Mrs. Pallikarou has a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG) from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH). During the period between June and July 2018, she carried out her practical training at the Laboratory of Applied Biotechnology and Microbiology of MBG DUTH, where she also obtained her bachelor thesis “Growth study of wild-type probiotic cultures in food-grade media” under the supervision of Professor Ioannis Kourkoutas in 2019.
She has a master of science degree (2021) in INFECTIOUS DISEASES- INTERNATIONAL MEDICINE: FROM BENCH TO BEDSIDE from Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Democritus University of Thrace in collaboration with Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace. Her master thesis was about ‘’Detection of class B Carbapenemases in K.pneumoniae strains which cause hospital infections’’, under the supervision of Professor Panopoulou Maria.
From September of 2021 to June 2022 was employed as molecular biologists at the diagnostic laboratory of Themistoklis Nikolaidis. In the meantime, from May to August of 2022 was employed as research assistant for the project InTechThrace of Democritus University of Thrace funded by Special Account of Research funds, under the supervision of Professor Maria Koffa.
From February 2023, Ms. Pallikarou is a Research Associate for the project “Individualised Medicine & Pharmacological Research Solutions Center (IMPReS)” (MIS 5047189) which is implemented under the Action “Support for Regional Excellence”, funded by the Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” (NSRF 2014–2020), under the supervision of Professor of Pharmacology, Pharmacogenomics, and Precision Medicine, Director, Laboratory of Pharmacology, Department of Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace, Vangelis Manolopoulos. Her research interests include Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Pharmacogenomics.
